Acribi is a free, vendor-neutral reference on calibration and metrology for quality managers, metrologists and calibration technicians. We explain what the standards and guides actually require, how to make everyday calibration decisions, and where the limits of each method lie, with the primary source behind every technical claim.
What we publish
- Guides on calibration concepts and on running a calibration program: certificates, intervals, measurement uncertainty, decision rules, out-of-tolerance investigations and records.
- Instrument pages with calibration procedures and record templates for common instruments.
- Standards explained in plain language: what ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and related documents ask for, and what auditors look for.
- Free calculators that run in your browser and are tested against worked examples from official sources.
- A directory of accredited calibration labs in the US (in preparation).
How we work
Every technical statement on Acribi cites a primary source: a standard, a guide from a national metrology institute or an accreditation body, or a regulation. We paraphrase and cite; we never reproduce the text of copyrighted standards. Each page shows when it was last updated and when its sources were last checked. The details are in how we research and write.
We are not a calibration laboratory, an accreditation body or a consultancy. Our pages explain requirements and good practice, but they do not replace the standard itself, your quality system or the judgment of your auditor.
Independence and funding
Acribi has no revenue today. We do not accept payment, free products or sponsorship from instrument manufacturers, software vendors or calibration laboratories, and no vendor reviews our pages before they are published. If this changes, we will say so here and on every page affected. Read our editorial policy.
Who is behind Acribi
Acribi is published by Soluciones técnicas Satenur, SL, based in Barcelona, Spain. Company details are in our privacy and legal notice.
The name comes from the Greek akribeia, which means exactness or precision.
